Sr. SAP Business Analyst

OVERVIEW: The objective of this position is to analyze business related issues and, to identify projects and technologies which will enable significant improvements for our SAP Analytical reporting platform and decision support functions. The Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both business needs and a solid understanding of our requirements and best practices. In addition, the Analyst may function as a project manager to coordinate and facilitate the work of cross-functional team resources assigned to technology projects. This position may also assist in routine maintenance for specific modules in the company s suite of business applications. This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Serve as Liaison between business users and UGIES IT.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business & operations reporting requirements and goals.
  • Provide proficient level of process guidance on reporting requirements, concept, design, realization and support.
  • Identify cross-functional topics and ensure the process are aligned across SAP modules and other supporting applications.
  • Direct and participate in the analysis, configuration, modification, testing and implementation of system enhancements across all business units.
  • Participate in the management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to existing or new system changes.
  • Evaluate information gathered from users, identify and reconcile conflicts where appropriate and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive business relationships with users, as well as, consistently demonstrating a thorough understanding of the business processes and priorities, to ensure that system and business cohesiveness meet current and future requirements.
  • Lead, coordinate, and maintain reporting requirements gathered from all business units by using UGIES ticketing tool JIRA.
  • Provide user training on tableau and configured reports across our business units.
  • Develop use cases and functional specifications and coordinate the capture of models and functional testing, ensuring system is functionally appropriate and technically sound.
  • Troubleshoot, coordinate, and maintain production systems as needed.
  • Provide user support and coordinate resolution of issues to include change management, root cause analysis, and appropriate escalation as needed.
  • Act as change management coordinator to prioritize business requests working with development team
  • Document and maintain user stories, test case libraries for each of the HANA sprints.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with SAP HANA, Webi, BOBJ, Tableau
  • Experience in modeling (creating base views, analytical views) and configuring reports in business objects and tableau.
  • Candidate should be self-driven and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidate should be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SAP Systems.
  • Proven success in managing teams, developing and executing business strategies and building strong relationships with business users.
