Sr. Financial Analyst - Business Development Dept

Overview: This person is responsible for completing financial analyses related key investment and operational decisions, with a heavy emphasis on project valuation in all of UGIES’ business lines, including, Midstream, LNG, Retail Energy Marketing, Power/Renewables. Projects will include acquisitions, new capital projects, asset optimization, and service expansions. You will have the opportunity to work directly with Business Development, Engineering & Construction, Tax, Accounting, Legal, Government Affairs, and Management teams to take a project from early stages to completion In addition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Modeling/Financial Analysis: Build, modify and/or review different financial, economic, or other models (e.g., financial projections, valuation, project finance, econometric, etc.) to support ongoing business activities and potential transactions, applying critical thinking, analytical skills, and data analysis.
  • Discussion Materials: Prepare presentation materials synthesizing analysis and recommendations in a clear and logical manner for discussion with working teams and presentation to senior management.
  • Research: Monitor peer activity, conduct market research, assess and benchmarking of companies through several means, including subject matter expert interviews, review of industry reports, literature search, and insights from conferences/webinars among others.
  • To prepare and present financial analyses and executive summaries to management.
  • Project Management: Provide analysis and modeling in support of various strategic and financial planning initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications skills and capable of conducting presentations to executive management and leading executive management planning sessions.
  • Ability to distill complex analytical issues into simple to understand analysis for management decision making.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to work with little to no supervision, while multitasking.
  • Strong PC skills (proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills to effectively work with multiple levels of management, strong leadership skills, ability to foster teamwork, and a desire to learn new and efficient ways of accomplishing work assignments.

 Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field of study. MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Highly preferred: Energy industry experience, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
