Job Summary (Purpose):

 The Sr. Manager – Middle Office will be responsible for the hedge strategy and forward pricing validation, daily P&L forecasting and monitoring compliance with the company’s Risk Management policy.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the supply department by taking ownership of the capacity management and peaking forecasts
  • Re-engineer the existing forecasting process to leverage automation and improve accuracy
  • Work closely with the CFO, Controller, accounting group and FP&A group during and after month-end close in the preparation and analysis of results for capacity management and peaking
  • Monitor compliance with UGI’s Corporate Risk Management policy and review effectiveness of current approach
  • Monitor compliance with operational procedures for pipelines and LDCs
  • Validate forward price curves by applying mid-point pricing methodology for all open positions (financial and physical)
  • Implement monitoring process to track open, but not confirmed deals at the end of each quarter
  • Perform NPNS analysis by performing an annual lookback analysis on deals recorded as NPNS and assess the frequency of financial settlement
  • Look for IT solutions for hedging mechanisms that are currently tracked on Excel spreadsheets


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial analysis and accounting skills
  • Strong working knowledge of internal controls
  • A working knowledge of the UGI Corp. Risk Management Policy
  • Ability to work independently


Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required, CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in financial analysis/accounting
