Job Summary

This position is responsible for sourcing, identifying, and delivering opportunities to generate and enhance the profitability of UGI Energy Services’ renewable natural gas business, as well as to coordinate and conduct activities that will grow the business into new geographies and product lines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the renewable natural gas business by networking with producers, midstream companies, renewable gas developers, bankers, consultants, and other industry participants.  
  • Identify potential opportunities – add new customers/expand existing customer relationships, existing asset optimization/expansion, acquisitions, partnerships, new asset development, new business/product lines. 
  • Leverage existing relationships to gain insights into upcoming opportunities and identify UGI synergies and competitive advantages. 
  • Manage the implementation of opportunities:
    • New customer/expanded relationship: Negotiate and finalize agreements. 
    • Acquisitions: Perform due diligence, prepare financial proformas, lead negotiations and finalize agreements. 
    • Capital project development: Coordinate with Engineering & Project Management in developing cost estimates/schedules, prepare financial proformas, assist in project development, negotiate contracts with customers/counterparties, monitor project development. 
    • Collaborate with Operations teams to oversee the implementation of approved projects.
  • Prepare and present viable opportunities to management for review and approval.
  • Function as primary customer contact. Identify and mitigate client issues by managing internal processes and ensuring other parts of the organization, such as Operations, Accounting, Engineering, etc. meet the clients’ expectations. Maintain an open line of communication with our customers. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Overall understanding of the US natural gas and NGL businesses, including supply, trading, logistics and operations. Understanding of renewable gas concepts, including production and monetization pathways.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling of capital projects and acquisition targets. 
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communications skills and capable of conducting presentations to executive management and leading executive management planning sessions.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with proven ability to build and lead internal teams, develop and nurture 3rd-party relationships, and oversee the development of multiple projects.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial and/or business development experience.
