Overview:

UGI Central Gas Control’s Transportation Services Department is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our department as a Gas Transportation Analyst.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of pipeline transportation customer service and supporting the growth of UGI’s pipeline transportation business.  The work schedule for this position is a rotating shift assignment including Day, Evening, Weekends, and Holidays.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assuring that all pipeline and storage customer transactions are confirmed and scheduled in a timely manner in accordance with UGI policies and tariff requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute reports detailing scheduled gas volumes for UGIES pipeline systems including Sunbury Pipeline, Mt Bethel Pipeline, UGI Storage Company, Auburn Pipeline, and UGI Texas Creek.
  • Update UGI pipeline bulletin boards with measured volumes, customer volume allocations, gas quality data, and critical / non-critical system operational notices.
  • Evaluate daily shipper requests for interruptible pipeline service and set up contracts in UGI’s electronic bulletin board and complete associated contract confirmations.
  • Assist Business Development department in identifying and analyzing new opportunities for expansion of UGI’s pipeline business and integration of new transportation and storage customers.
  • Provide support to all UGI pipeline customers including training and education regarding use of UGI’s pipeline bulletin boards, responding to contract questions, and responding to customer billing inquiries.
  • Support the pipeline customer billing process by providing measurement data, allocation of all gas volumes, and invoice computation assistance to UGI’s billing department.
  • Respond to requests for data and process control compliance documentation from UGI internal and external audit departments.
  • This assignment will require strict compliance with the FERC code of conduct for a FERC designated Transmission Function Employee.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain working knowledge of interstate pipeline bulletin boards and business practices.
  • Understand and fully comply with the FERC standards of conduct.
  • General understanding of the natural gas industry and ability to quickly learn natural gas pipeline operations and scheduling.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical orientation and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, and strong commitment to customer service.

 

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Business, Finance, or Engineering preferred. 
  • Experience in natural gas pipeline transportation services desirable.
  • Experience using interstate pipeline electronic bulletin boards desirable.
