Job Summary

UGI Energy Services, LLC (UGIES) is a diverse and rapidly growing energy company specializing in the development of natural gas related infrastructure, and derived commodities.  The position will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, specifying, and supporting the construction of new facilities and assets to be owned and operated by UGIES.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute the engineering design of new natural gas related infrastructure projects.  Typical projects include Renewable natural gas facilities, liquified natural gas vaporization facilities, natural gas metering and regulating stations, and natural gas compressor stations.
  • Establish the overall facility design including conceptualization, PFD and P&ID creation, construction of process control philosophies, generation of control narratives, etc.
  • Oversee development of the site layout and facility mechanical design to ensure process objectives and code requirements are met. 
  • Identify, size, specify, and select process equipment, typically to include flow meters, control valves, regulators, pressure relief valves, heaters, coolers, compressors, and heat exchangers.
  • Integrate various discipline designs to ensure successful project delivery. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, and ensure robust coordination with business development, project management, procurement, equipment vendors, internal staff engineers, external engineering firms, and operations.
  • Manage and assist in the commissioning of newly installed equipment and facilities. 
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, particularly ASME B31.3 and 31.8.  Additional familiarity with API standards, AGA standards, CFR Title 49 Parts 192 and 193, and NFPA 58, 59 and 59A desired.
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-developed technical skills in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Strong communication skills and an eagerness to work within a team setting. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; additional proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam Revu preferred.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred; BS in an Engineering discipline required.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related technical field.
  • Preference given to applicants with experience in the natural gas industry, process and piping design, cryogenics, gas compression, or similar.
