OVERVIEW:  UGI Energy Services, LLC (UGIES) is a diverse and rapidly growing energy company specializing in the development of natural gas related infrastructure, and derived commodities.  The below described position will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, specifying and supporting the construction of electrical systems that support new facilities and assets to be owned and operated by UGIES. 



  • Design and execute the safe, reliable and code compliant design of electrical systems supporting new natural gas related infrastructure projects.  Typical projects include LNG liquefaction plants, LNG vaporization plants, natural gas transmission pipelines, natural gas metering and regulating stations, and natural gas pipeline compressor stations.
  • Design new power distribution and instrumentation systems including the specification of MCC’s, wiring, conduits, cable trays, grounding systems, generators, uninterruptable power supplies, process controls instrumentation, etc.
  • Develop, modify and review loop sheets, single lines, PLC layouts and panel layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Program and commission PLCs, VFDs and HMIs.
  • Create commissioning documentation, and execute the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Develop hazardous area classifications maps, and apply appropriate codes and standards to mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate the efforts of third party engineering design firms, equipment packagers, vendors and OEMs.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Additional duties as assigned.



  • Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD required.
  • Some familiarity with NEC code is a plus.
  • Some familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and an eagerness to work within a team setting.



BS in Electrical Engineering required.

0-3 years in electrical design work in a field and office environment.


Preference given to applicants with experience in the natural gas industry, process design, cryogenics, gas compression, or similar.
