Job Summary

The Materials Analyst is responsible for deliveries and documentation associated with the Company’s needs for materials, equipment and services associated with Growth and Maintenance Capital Projects. Ensures products and services are delivered on time, in good condition and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to ensure they meet specification requirements.  Compiles all associated compliance documentation and organizes project information to create project job books for turnover to operations.  Tracks delivery performances to budgets and schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Project Management function by inspecting, receiving, logging and transferring custody of materials, coordinating with shippers, and ensuring proper material handling equipment is made available. 
  • Coordinate regularly with procurement to ensure Purchase Orders are tracked and delivery dates/locations are in line with project requirements.
  • Provide first line of document controls through tracking MTRs, and monitoring the control process for weld maps, X-Ray and other pertinent project documents. 
  • Retrieve undelivered MTRs from vendors. Retain packing slips and material transfer documents.  Verify materials on vendor invoices are shipped complete. 
  • Coordinate with other Stakeholders and third parties to organize and compile compliance job books for turnover to operations
  • Provide support to the project management group through timely reporting on deliveries.  Act as an onsite liaison between project management and onsite vendors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.); ability to learn and become proficient with company specific software/programs 
  • Ability to build strong relationships and develop trust; collaborative, team-focused, and service-oriented
  • Strong communication skills; communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics, blue prints and research technical matters to stay current with applicable technical and industry changes
  • Knowledge of material work planning and methods, engineering processes and procedures

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience
