Job Summary
This position is responsible for the daily procurement of natural gas supplies to serve the Company’s retail market and manages the daily optimization of the Company’s supply asset portfolio. The position is also responsible for acting as the subject matter expert to their assigned pipeline and/or market region as it relates to commodity market dynamics and the incorporation of UGIES’ asset portfolio available on the day.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Purchase physical natural gas supplies each day to balance the daily requirements of UGIES’s 40,000 customers across 43 Local Distribution Companies and 23 interstate pipelines and gathering systems
- Analyze opportunities to reduce costs and monetize value by taking advantage of market conditions, UGIES’ asset portfolio, and optimizing delivery locations for daily downstream obligations.
- Participate in the implementation of the Company’s critical day protocol to manage the dispatch of the Company’s LNG and LP-air peaking assets.
- Identity, analyze, recommend, and execute opportunities to generate income through market buy/sell transactions, capacity release, and/or seasonal storage opportunities
- Communicate, analyze, and report various metrics related to pipeline conditions, weather, and locational pricing indices to management.
