Liquid Propane Technician (LPG)

Overview: A Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG) Technician is responsible for the operations and maintenance of LPG equipment and systems related to ongoing LPG operations and new projects, including terminal operations and LPG peak shaving operations at anyone of the six UGI Energy Services Propane Facilities. Also, cross train in UGI Energy Services LNG operations at either any Fixed or Mobile LNG facility.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work in a safe manner and adhere to UGI Energy Services Safety Polices.
  • Comply with all UGI Energy Services Policies.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations/codes.
  • Comply with OSHA, UGI, and other applicable safety procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LPG equipment in the execution of LPG operations and projects.
  • Assist in routine terminal operating procedures including inventory, railcar unloading, truck loading and unloading, etc.
  • Have the ability to interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Fill out and maintain required logs per company standards.
  • Interface and cooperate effectively with UGI personnel as well as customers, site representatives, inspectors, local authorities, and others involved with LPG operations and projects.
  • Operate in a shift position and work weekends, holidays, overtime, and to be available to be on call as required.
  • Travel in execution of UGI projects and initiatives to any UGI Energy Services facilities or locations (mainly the six LPG facilities), including off-site work assignments.
  • Maintain manuals for operating, maintenance, emergency, training and safety.
  • Any and all additional duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Products and have good computer skills.
  • Ability to follow and enforce procedures.
  • Professional, reliable, self-directing work habits.
  • Experience working with regulated commodities.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Formal experience in the trades, highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of industry related or similar experience.
