Job Summary-
The AI & Analytics Solutions Intern will support the development and implementation of cloud-based AI automation solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a focus on AWS Bedrock, Lambda, and Step Functions. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced energy company environment and reports directly to the Senior Manager of AI & Analytics Solutions.
Essential Functions-
Assist in developing and testing AWS Lambda functions, Step Functions workflows, and Bedrock-powered automation pipelines under the guidance of the AI & Analytics team.
Support the design and documentation of AI use case specifications, including drafting process flow documentation and technical specs for automation candidates across business units.
Contribute to Power BI report development and SQL Server query optimization, including data validation, testing, and performance analysis for analytics solutions.
Participate in data pipeline development for cloud-based data lake initiatives, including testing ingestion workflows, validating output data, and assisting with troubleshooting. Conduct research and proof-of-concept development on emerging AI/ML tools and AWS services, summarizing findings and presenting recommendations to the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-
Foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, IAM, Step Functions, Bedrock) gained through coursework or self-study.
Programming proficiency in Python; ability to write, read, and debug scripts for data processing, API calls, and automation workflows.
Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL querying; exposure to SQL Server or similar RDBMS preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to research technical topics, identify root causes, and propose solutions with guidance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document technical processes clearly and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
Education and Experience-
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Completion of at least three years of undergraduate study preferred.
No prior professional experience required. Relevant coursework, personal projects, or prior internship experience in software development or cloud computing is a plus.
AWS Cloud Practitioner certification (or in progress) preferred but not required.
