Job Summary

This position will be responsible with working with Senior Infrastrucure Analysts  to enure delivery of services and technologies in support of business and plant operations.  We are in search of an individual to assist with the  maintenance, production support, and implementation of Infrastructure systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for key aspects of project implementation, working as a member of a team guided by senior Server Administrators. With training and system familiarity will become principal admin for targeted Infrastructure systems and services.
  • Responsible for assisting the planning, testing, deployment, maintenance and security of the server infrastructure systems (mix of physical and virtual systems).
  • Assit with DR planning and annual DR test. This may envolve travel to DR locations and be on site for the length of a test.
  • Will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of technical documentation for the server environment including up-to-date records of hardware configurations, software licenses, maintenance agreements, network diagrams, Disaster Recovery Procedures, and maintenance operations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements.  Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for server growth through various tools including VMWare.
  • Support technical projects in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware.

    Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment.

  • Identify hardware and software technical problems, storage and/or related system malfunctions, as well as upgrade and deploy SANs, NAS and related servers and services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in areas of IT infrastructure operations including planning and maintaining networks, operating systems, virtualization, SAN storage, disaster recovery, high availability, enterprise security, and data communications. Knowledge of the concepts of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux (Redhat).
  • Ability to understand the complex, inter-linked server environment and to work towards solutions that incorporate multiple, related variables. Ability to follow a detailed project plan.
  • Prior experience with maintenance, service delivery, production support, information security, risk, audit and asset documentation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as have strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity of the principles of ITIL practices as related to IT delivery of services.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science and/or Information Systems.
  • At least 2+ years of Infrastructure experience.
