Job Summary
The Compression Maintenance Technician is expected to perform the duties and responsibilities listed in the section below. This work will be performed at all compressor stations within UGIES Auburn compression system. Occasionally you may be asked to assist with work at other UGIES locations which may require some travel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform station maintenance as needed, including all work and repairs on Caterpillar 3500 & 3600 series engines, Ariel compressors, Gardner-Denver air compressors, Murphy/ Allen Bradley control systems and periodic emission checks and tuning.
- Support Compressor Operations with any projects or troubleshooting of equipment when needed.
- Complete work orders and properly record all parts removed from inventory. Work closely with Maintenance supervisor to ensure inventory levels are sufficient for upcoming work.
- Track and keep electronic records of all maintenance performed.
- Provide technical assistance to operations during and after normal business hours.
- Employee may be asked to mentor fellow employees based on your degree of gas compression knowledge.
- Must be willing to be on an on-call rotation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good overall knowledge of natural gas compression systems.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar engines and Ariel reciprocating compressors.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS software desired.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs, occasionally exceeding 50lbs.
- Ability to use Forklift, Boom/scissor Lift, and other equipment related to Station Maintenance.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma
- Related technical / mechanical degree is desired.
- 3-5 years minimum of Caterpillar & Ariel experience required.
- Training specific to Caterpillar & Ariel reciprocating compressors is desired.
