The Senior Director, Territory Operations leads multiple regions for retail operations with accountability for safety, customer experience, financial performance and expenses, achievement of KPIs, operational efficiencies, team and asset management.  The Senior Director, Territory Operations leads region teams to meet operational and financial metrics, create best practices and/or solutions to work more efficiently, and drive collaboration cross functionally so that teams can deliver propane safely, on-time, and effectively to our customers each day.  Develops and builds high performing teams that demonstrate UGI’s core values and behaviors while achieving operational and financial targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Safety Management

  • Drives a culture of performance and accountability by leading multiple regional retail operations teams to achieve targets on safety management, customer experience, operational performance efficiencies, team development, and financial performance. 
  • Directs teams to meet financial and operational performance KPIs and ensures profitable operations and adherence to company standards.
  • Partners with operations and cross functional teams to understand operational challenges, identifies root causes, and creates solutions to help improve processes and execution of safe propane delivery to customers. 
  • Reviews data and trends regarding operational processes, execution, and customer feedback to aggregate more efficient ways of working that aid in improving customer service. 
  • Understands company short- and long-term goals; develops actions towards achievement and motivates staff on execution of action plans.  
  • Develops team capabilities by providing effective coaching and training for professional and personal growth.
  • Creates strong work experiences for teams at all levels focusing on engagement, morale, and retention strategies.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving operational and financial performance targets, while also enhancing team effectiveness and collaboration. 
  • Ability to analyze business reports, contracts, agreements of service; interpret performance metrics, and create solutions for enhanced performance.
  • Ability to motivate teams towards common goals and build high performing teams that deliver results. 
  • Strong understanding of safety requirements in DOT, FMCSA, and regulated environments. 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required; college degree strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years in a management position required; multi-unit experience preferred.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hazardous or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and flammable materials.  The employee will be working in both office and external work environments.

The pay for this position ranges from $162,000.00 to $200,000.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales.
