Job Summary (Purpose):

 

Under the direction of the Regional Logistics Manager the incumbent will function as a working supervisor to unload product, supervise the operations of the terminal, oversee the terminal inventory; complete daily and month end inventory reports; oversee loading/unloading of transports; and perform maintenance and repairs on terminal equipment while operating in a safe working environment.

Key contributor during budgeting negotiations to ensure the success of the business and garner commitment for continued growth and strategy.
  • Management Skills: The Terminal Manager is a key field management position communicating and interacting with a wide range of employees, drivers and others at multiple locations. The manager will oversee the performance of their direct team members and will be responsible for their development. 
  • Initiative: A self-starter who can successfully drive improvements in safety behavior, culture, methodology and technical areas. The manager must be adaptable to change and capable of adapting his or her Team with change management skills.
  • Communication: Sets a clear vision and uses interpersonal influence and skills to motivate people, especially those over whom they have no direct management control.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage staffing, hiring, scheduling, and employee issues within the department
  • Manage department budget and expenses including overtime
  • Perform reviews and actively seek out training and development opportunities for the team
  • The manager will focus on World Class Safety and influence the adherence to company policies and procedures, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Accountable for site location maintenance, reporting and upkeep in accordance with company policy as well as state/fed regulations. 
  • Complete a daily and monthly inventory reporting
  • Take daily temperature, pressure and liquid level readings of the storage tanks
  • Manage terminal equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the RLM

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • Management and Terminal Operator experience (3-5 years required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Mechanical experience dealing with pumps and compressors
  • Experience in hazardous materials handling 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
