Job Summary

The Systems Administrator will assist in the management and support of business-critical systems and services. Works with IT technology personnel in the creation, modification and enhancement for server-based security vulnerability patching management, server backups and infrastructure monitoring service components and processes.

Duties & Responsiblities:

 

•    Perform patch management tasks include maintaining current knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are appropriate for particular systems, ensuring that patches are installed properly, testing systems after installation, and documenting all associated procedures.
•    Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal customers, in written and oral format.
•    Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the vulnerability patch management systems including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
•    Provide managed backup implementation, troubleshooting and recovery services for IT managed systems and disk space.
•    Create and maintain backup policies and backup software updates 
•    Test new releases of backup software to ensure compatibility and minimize backup failures and system interruptions 
•    Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
•    Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, system components
•    Assist with network and device monitoring 
•    Assist with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and certificate management tools
•    Assist with the change management process
•    Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
•    Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
•    Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to vulnerability management and backup systems, software, and hardware.
•    Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
•    Provide installation of cable and power connectivity when needed for various company data centers

•    Ability to identify improvements in current operational procedures, including service request processing, service level recording and customer satisfaction monitoring

•    Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    
Education and Experience Required:
•    Patch Management & Backup Automation experience
•    Associate or Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience 
•    Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
•    Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems with little or no assistance.
•    Experience with SCCM, Commvault, Cohesity
•    Familiar with the following tools a plus: WSUS, Ansible, Ivanti Security controls
•    Familiar with SQL, File share, VM , Exchange, SAP, Veeam backups
•    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Other Requirements: 

•    Requires less than 10% Travel
•    Requires after hours and weekend work in order to respond to emergency events and perform maintenance
