Sr. Strategic Pricing Analyst

Job Summary (Purpose):


Acts as the Pricing Department’s lead data analyst to optimize price setting and assists in developing new value-based pricing frameworks. Supports and provides recommendations for strategic pricing and pricing execution decisions. Duties include creating models to optimize price settings, developing statistical variance analysis, price and revenue trending analysis, modeling new pricing initiative programs, and determining recommendations based on these analyses; special projects as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Accurate and timely identification of company pricing issues is vital for effective price management by our field operations.  Determines appropriate price points for various customer segments based on statistical model of transaction level data to improve overall pricing effectiveness. 


  • Gather and analyze all available pricing data based on type, segment, geography, size, and time period, etc.  Responsible for analysis of current pricing projects, as well as identifying opportunities to maximize pricing effectiveness within the dataset
  • Supporting analysis in customer segmentation model and customer value measurement
  • Provide key field and corporate personnel with the most current analysis and profitability data required for accurate decision-making
  • Assist in determining appropriate pricing decisions based on statistical analysis.
  • Creation of data value based strategic pricing models and training to ensure transition of information and projects to the Pricing Execution team



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Senior knowledge of spreadsheets, statistical applications, and additional analysis various software applications. (Qlik, Tableau, SPSS, JMP, SAS, Minitab, etc.)
  • Statistical modeling and Financial analysis, ability to work with large amounts of data
  • Capable of working independently to complete assignments and in a team environment
  • Possess strong organizational and priority setting skills
  • Ability to own a process from creation to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills                         




Education and Experience Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field. Masters degree a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an analytical function or related experience
