Job Summary: 

 

As the leader of the Region Finance Management team, position focused on managing overall financial support of the Field.  Manager plays an integral role in supporting FP&A Director and AmeriGas leadership by providing timely Forecast updates, key business insights/happenings, and driving efficiencies in budgeting, forecasting and analysis deliverables. This role is crucial in supporting the PODs initiative and serves as a key connection point between field operations, forecasting, and capacity modeling, overseeing both regional operations and strategic accounts.

 

This role is hybrid, 3 days a week in the King of Prussia, PA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Region Focus: Partners with Company & Region Leadership to provide analytical insight, drive financial discipline and deliver business results. 
  • Play a key role in supporting and implementing the PODs initiative, ensuring alignment between field operations, financial planning, and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee financial management and strategic planning for both regional operations and strategic accounts, including business-to-business relationships.
  • Act as a crucial link between field operations, forecasting teams, and capacity modeling, ensuring seamless integration of financial and operational data across all business segments.
  • Ensure motivation and alignment of field activities with leadership objectives.
  • As the leader of the Region Leadership Team, effectively communicate key financial trends and emerging issues to the Region & Area Leaders. Lead Region Finance Manager direct reports in weekly/monthly processes, managing relationships with Field, shepherding critical financial analysis, and driving consistency in service/support that FP&A provides to the Field.
  • Train and educate Region leaders on the financial aspects of their business, such as reading their P&L, interpreting financial and operational metrics, etc.
  • Lead the CAPEX and OPEX budget and monthly forecast development process and proactively manage spending.
  • Analyzes operating expense spend and identifies opportunities for cost savings. Review expenses with a skeptical eye for unusual, fraudulent or wasteful transactions. Understand top vendor spend.
  • Support monthly P&L review process by reviewing actual results versus plan, understand and articulate monthly variance reports and analyze key performance drivers. Be proactive about sharing where you project the Region to finish the month with Region Leadership – avoid surprises.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • 8-12 years of experience in financial analysis/management, including experience with distribution operations and B2B financial management. Familiarity with propane or related energy sector is a plus but not required. 
  • Experience in managing diverse teams across multiple business units, including field operations and strategic accounts in a distribution-focused environment.
  • Communications - Excellent in communicating financial information in both written and verbal forms and is able to work on many initiatives. 
  • Ability to communicate results and recommendations to Senior Leadership.  Professional ability to handle a large amount of analysis on a wide variety of issues resulting in a continuous flow of questions and exchange of information with follow up.
     

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • BS in Finance or Accounting
  • Masters in business administration
  • 8-12 years of experience in financial analysis/management
  • Travel as needed
