Sr. Manager - Demand and Capacity Planning

The [Sr. Manager] Demand and Capacity Planning is responsible for leading the forecasting of propane demand throughout all AmeriGas businesses and customer categories, and the impact on key delivery and service resources.  In the near term, this position will be responsible for leading a project to reengineer our demand forecasting process to leverage data and analytics available throughout the company to a) provide accurate short, medium, and long-term forecasting and develop capacity plans for field resources.  Works at all levels of the organization, directly interacting with CEO, CFO, senior management, distribution, and advanced analytics teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Lead a project utilizing consultant support to completely reengineer the AmeriGas demand forecasting process.  The result is expected to optimize the use of data, analytics and system technology to produce accurate demand forecasts over multiple time periods and various geographic and customer segmentation to support all business needs.
o    Determine the correct mix of analytics and demand planning software to develop a premier demand forecasting system tool, assessing new leading-edge technology solutions to support/replace existing tools
•    Utilizing the demand forecast develop and maintain a dynamic resource capacity model to support field operational staffing decisions and financial forecasting.
•    Develop propane demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function for base business, ACE and National Account customers.
•    Develop propane demand forecasts for supply and logistics to facilitate order optimization.
•    Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
•    Build relationships among distribution, advanced analytics, sales and marketing, supply and logistics and senior leadership to lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus forecasting to better guide the company in decision making    
•    Ad hoc reporting/analysis requests and special projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•    BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.  CPA, MBA a plus.
•    10+ years exp. in financial analysis and reporting.
•    Experience managing employees  
•    Strong cross functional relationship skills.
•    Strong managerial skills are required to ensure excellent customer service, integrity of analysis, and consistency in reporting
•    Excellent communication skills required.  This position will interact with all levels of management, particularly the CFO and Leadership Team.
•    Strong PC skills required, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of products and PeopleSoft Financial Systems.
