As the Solution Architect, you will develop end-to-end business solutions, architecture, and technical strategy for digital transformation.  The Solution Architect will play a major role in the major technology transformation being undertaken by the company.  The Solution Architect will be responsible for the creation of the solution approach, presentation/communication of the solution, and as a guide to the delivery for realization of the solution. While partnering with assigned business units, the Solution Architect contributes to the wider Web and Mobility Technology Center.  This includes actively collaborating with department leaders to deliver digital technology architectural roadmaps and strategies.

This manager level position must be adaptive and versatile in technology in order to act as an integral part of the development team to design innovative solutions with an emphasis on simplicity and usability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

•Design and deliver innovative solutions in support of business’ strategic and tactical objectives.
•Establishes and implementation of cloud based digital architectures capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to support AmeriGas’ digital transformation.
•Engages others throughout solution delivery to provide design acceptance, understand and plan for infrastructural impacts, plan for and validate functional and non-functional requirements, ensure compliance with secure development standards and negotiate security trade-offs, and provide technical mentoring on coding techniques, methods and standards.
•Develop process improvements and efficiencies; focus on continuous improvement.
•Ensure scalable, extensible technology platform(s) for Information Technology that can by leveraged across various business functions.  
•Other duties, as assigned.

 

Education & Experience Required:

 

•BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred. 
•10+ years of software development experience.
•3 years of cloud architecture experience.
•Experience in both Waterfall and AGILE project management methodologies preferred. 
•Prior experience developing or working with Cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Web and Worker roles and Azure service bus.
•Experience with packaged off the shelf technology and the implementation of these packages.
•Experience in distributed application development using SCRUM management tools and strategies with such as VSO and JIRA.
•Experience with Application Performance Management Tools such as Azure Insights or AppDynamics.
•Experience implementing SaaS solutions
