The Senior Analyst, Telematics will help AmeriGas get the full value out of telematics by being heavily involved with the reporting and analytics, project management, and the initial rollout for installations, setting up system integrations and administrative duties within the system for our telematics provider.  The position is data focused to help improve vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency, safety, predictive maintenance, and much more. Looking for someone with an interest in data, the skills to translate it into recommended actions, and great project management skills to deliver results.  This role will also require the ability to drive change through influence, and a thorough understanding of how different roles within the company work together.  There will be an emphasis on continuous improvement in this role, from streamlining and standardizing internal Fleet Department processes and reporting, using systems and processes to optimize resources while minimizing costs, and leading cost savings initiatives.

 

The Senior Analyst will analyze telematics data for opportunities, launch projects focused on those opportunities and assist with training and on-going support. This highly visible role will become the go-to colleague for telematics and related data, questions and value delivery.

 

Overall Fleet management includes >5,500 power units and >2,000 trailers/other equipment with an overall vehicle expense exceeding $150 million per year.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage day-to-day system administration and onboarding for new managers.
  • Assist with system integrations, internal (IT) and external (various vendors) for sharing and receiving information.
  • Deep diving into available data to find opportunities for improvements and cost savings.
  • Understand the life cycle process of the telematics device from installation, replacements, and removal.
  • Owns various reporting processes for weekly and monthly reporting, such as utilization, fuel efficiency/idling, and more, including alerts to managers, leadership.
  • Primary point of contact for telematics vendor and related data requests.
  • Provides daily support to the Fleet Team, Field Managers and employees, other departments and Senior Leaders, focused on telematics and related systems.
  • Develop and implement a best in class fleet telematics program.
  • Manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs.
  • Manages day to day Fleet processes and the primary external vendors chosen to support those activities.
  • Participates in the development and administration of the company’s annual fleet budget.
  • Participates in the development of the AmeriGas Fleet replacement program, helping to identify vehicles to remove from the fleet.
  • Expected to translate data into action, through solid Continuous Improvement and Project Management capabilities.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Prior experience in fleet or with fleet telematics data/programs not required, although preferred.
  • Knowledge of report development and data visualization processes.
  • Demonstrated cost reduction and efficiency improvement results.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities through data analysis, develop and lead projects using this data and delivering expected financial benefits.

 

Education Required

 

  • College Graduate BS in Analytics, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Statistics or related program.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
