Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis

The Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis is primarily responsible for preparing critical financial information and analysis that will assist in the strategic decision-making process.  

 

Key responsibilities are:
•    consolidation of annual budget and three-year plan and periodic forecasts
•    balance sheet and cash flow modeling to ensure adequate liquidity and debt compliance
•    Capital spending forecasting and business case assistance
•    financial support and analysis on critical business issues 
•    volume/margin analysis and issue identification
•    competitive analysis
•    financial statement analysis and reporting
•    scenario modeling

 

Reporting Relationships:

The Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis reports directly to the Director of FP&A but has significant interaction with the Leader of FP&A, CFO and Senior Management of AmeriGas and the FP&A team at UGI.  
  

 
Key Responsibilities:

Annual Budget Process:
•    Provide analytical support for the Leader and Director of FP&A, in preparation for budget building workshops, and formal budget presentations with the AmeriGas President and Leadership, CEO of UGI and the Board of Directors.  Including:
•    Documentation of key business assumptions.
•    Development of summary budget/plan year forecasts by key strategic initiative.
•    Preparation of Budget/Plan year financial statements using the financing model
•    Development of presentations for AmeriGas Leadership, UGI, and Board of Directors budget meetings.
•    Reporting of final budget/plan year data and the annual budget reference book.

Financial Forecasting:
•    Provide regular updates of financial projections (Actual / Forecast) using the financial model.
•    Provide pro forma financial forecasting for the impact of potential major acquisitions or other business scenarios.
•    Provide balance sheet and cash flow forecasts and liquidity analysis for debt planning.
•    Provide quarterly Available Cash “Stress Case” forecasts to UGI.
•    Provide periodic long-range financial forecasts for rating agencies and lenders
•    Provide capital expenditure forecasts

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
•    Review the monthly results of operations and provide variance analysis and relevant supporting information to the CFO and President of AmeriGas
•    Preparation and analysis in support of the following:
•    Periodic Operating Reports
•    Board Report schedules

Financial Analysis Projects:
•    Lead the Hyperion strategic modeling implementation
•    Ad-hoc analysis projects, including the evaluation of the earnings potential for new growth initiatives and the evaluation of the effectiveness of recently-implemented initiatives. 

Other departmental responsibilities:
•    Coordination and review of degree-day and other weather statistics. 
•    Tax support as needed.
•    Prepare Annual Economic Census for US Census Bureau (full census due every 5 years)

 

Experience/Education:

•    BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
•    CPA or MBA in Finance required
•    7+ years of financial planning and analysis in a large organization
