Jr ServiceNow Administrator

Job Summary:

 

The Junior ITSM Administrator is responsible for the administration, development, documentation and technical support of the ServiceNow platform. The incumbent should have: a fundamental understanding of technical support, customer service and IT service management; must demonstrate administrative experience in ServiceNow applications, customization of forms and tables, notifications, catalog items, Service Portal, client scripts, Business Rules, UI Scripts etc.; have a basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, web applications, networks, protocols, email (SMTP, POP3), Active Directory and LDAP.  Must have proven ability to manage work queue and communicate effectively to supported users and the development team. Support the IT departments’ efforts in continuous improvement activities and metrics reporting.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
     
  • Conduct testing, analysis, and certification of changes to Service Now.
  • Configuring and customizing the Service Now system, including workflows, forms, security, notifications, and others as necessary.
  • Create Technical Specifications Documentation, ensuring the customizations made are properly documented for future reference and verification.
  • Maintain and support ServiceNow operational functions; monitoring health, usage and overall compliance of the application.
  • Loading, manipulating and maintaining data between Service Now and other systems as needed.
  • Research and deploy applicable new releases and/or enhancements into the ServiceNow environment, ensuring proper documentation, notification, and testing are completed.
  • Stay current on all new technologies, and communicate the latest policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Required:
     
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.  (Preferred MIS, IS; Computer Science; or Business).
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience working in service delivery environment or related field.
  • Working towards Service-Now Administrator Certification 
  • Additional coursework demonstrating commitment to skills development.
     
    Education and Experience Preferred:

 

  • Previous ServiceNow administration experience 
  • Experience with Active Directory; Single Sign-on using: SAML 2.0. & Web Services integrations 
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, as well as general PC hardware, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP), wireless communication, and anti-virus software. 
     
    Other Requirements:
     
  • After hours and weekend work required if needed to respond to business need, and emergency events.
