Job Summary (Purpose):
The Business Process Analyst II position is responsible for the support and improvement of the key IT/Business processes within the area of focus for the AmeriGas Business. This position provides technical and functional expertise in the areas of defining business requirements for improvements, project management of new initiatives and support for these new initiatives. The role will primarily support Field Operations, Service, Fleet, and Safety, with a concentrated focus on Fleet and Safety operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with business groups to define new areas of improvement and prioritize process enhancements
- Participates in design reviews and develops recommendations for improving relevant software tools to meet company needs
- Performs thorough root cause analysis to identify and solve complex business problems
- Develops business process maps and translates functional requirements for Technology center teams or contractors
- Provides project management leadership to ensure new initiatives are delivered as promised
- Serves as the IT Single Point of Contact for designated business units
- Conducts financial analysis including budget reviews and expense tracking to support business decision-making
- Delivers data-driven insights to identify process efficiency opportunities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong IT business analyst experience with demonstrated ability to quickly analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Project management experience with ability to plan, execute, and monitor initiatives
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses
- Financial acumen to review budgets, analyze expenses, and provide meaningful financial insights
- Great attitude that consistently demonstrates a "can do" approach
- Strong relationship-building skills within both business and IT departments
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to meet objectives and deadlines
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Ability to assess issues methodically and develop practical solutions
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, IT, Finance, or related field
- 4-6 years of process improvement or related experience
- Demonstrated IT business analyst experience
- Project management experience, preferably with formal methodology training
- Financial analysis background with budget management experience
- Key contributor on at least one significant system initiative that delivered substantial business value
- Previous experience with an organization that has strong field operations presence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong coordination, organizational, and time management skills
Working conditions:
• Normal Valley Forge HQ office environment with some travel required
