Job Summary (Purpose):

Group Director is responsible strategy development and implementation of our base business growth programs.  This includes the execution of our AmeriGas customer marketing strategy focused on customers with the highest lifetime value in our focused geographies.  In addition, this role also develops our focused retention strategy and implements programs that reduce base business churn.  Reports to VP Marketing, Growth, and Retention and leads the internal marketing team along with the external resources to strategize the best use of resources on marketing plans for AmeriGas. Utilizes analytical skills and a financial framework that consistently analyzes the cost benefit analysis of long-term returns for all marketing programs, and regularly reports those results to the senior leadership of the organization. Coordinates with extended leadership team, field managers, field sales management and internal departments on design and development of programs that support the company growth strategy.

  • Leadership – Has demonstrated the leadership and communication abilities needed to lead the AmeriGas Marketing function.
  • Financials – Successful background in finance to develop model that measures marketing programs with both agency and client side understanding to measuring success of marketing investment.
  • Communications – Capability to work across multiple teams effectively while delivering inspired marketing campaign ideas throughout the AmeriGas organization.  Regularly communicates with senior leaders in a large organization.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops the annual marketing plan, the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve goals. Consistently measures results and value of each program necessary to meet annual budget objectives.  This includes both offline and online sales for all base business customers.
  • Works with advanced analytics team to understand trends with current customers that drive profitability for AmeriGas.  Refine marketing & retention programs and offers based on customer trends that provide Long Term Value, (LTV).
  • Partners with corporate pricing, customer service, distribution and other key departments in helping to maximize value of new customers acquired through our marketing programs. 
  • Manage and coach internal direct reports within AmeriGas marketing department to achieve all marketing targets.
  • Formulates our customer retention strategy and actively measures the success of those programs in reducing base business churn.
  • Manages outside marketing partners while measuring and maximizing the effectiveness of integrated marketing strategies linked to company performance and achievement of company program goals and objectives.
  • Oversees our Cynch home delivery marketing team in the profitable expansion of this business.
  • Responsible for all Marketing department budgets and expenses used to complete project timelines and related work on time and budget.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Analytics - experience presenting detailed analytics to executive leaders using KPI’s. 
  • Vendors- Experienced in managing vendors and partnership teams effectively
  • Communications – Presence to communicate and present at the senior leadership level.
  • Executive presence – interfaces with senior leaders well. 
  • Marketing Systems - ability to use Microsoft CRM or similar contact management system.

 

Education and Experience 

  • BA or MBA in advertising, marketing/sales, communications or related field.
  • Minimum 10 yrs. in progressive positons in driving profitable growth at an organization
