Sr Wholesale Manager

Job Summary (Purpose):

 

Maintain the day to day operations of Wholesale Sales to generate $100 million in revenue, $3.0 million in EBITDA, and distribution of 100 million gallons of LPG.  Supervise three Wholesale Sales Representatives and three Customer Service Representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Promote customer growth and retention by assisting the Wholesale Sales Representatives in developing marketing and sales programs to meet customer requirements 
  • Attract, retain and motivate a highly productive sales and customer service department through hiring, training, skills development programs and communication
  • Coordinate and monitor budget plans
  • Focus and emphasize on customer retention programs and planning
  • Assure that supply and operations support is available to delivery superior customer satisfaction 
  • Develop and implement innovative IT programs such as Teton to analyze annual and pre-buy customer contract performance, lifting patterns for future strategies and allocation earnings
  • Work directly with Supply, Hedging and Risk Management. Understand and review the distribution of gallons within the Wholesale regions
  • Monitor Wholesale working capital inventories to meet corporate cash flow objectives
  • Develop individual specific sales targets, goals, and plans for the Sales Representatives and Supply Manager
  • Drive down operating expense by managing the budgeted expense targets 
  • Account Management; personal account reviews with high profile customers
  • Provide internal training and coaching sessions for employees 
  • Maintain ongoing communication with our Regional Sales Organization and National Accounts
  • Interface with Legal Department to ensure contracts satisfy appropriate requirements and mitigate risks
  • Manages supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  This includes interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and customer data bases (ACT and CRM)
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, financial reports, market information and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups and, or external business groups.
  • Travel approximately 5-10 work days per month

 

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • Industry related experience a plus, especially in LPG or NGL related commodity businesses
  • Sales leadership and management
  • Logistics and distribution knowledge for bulk truck and railroad sales
