Position Summary:

 

Supervises a team responsible for overseeing the creation, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts throughout their entire lifecycle to ensure the organization's interests are protected and compliance is maintained.  Oversee the contract process for commercial customers and support Sales with contract edits. Serve as the initial point of contact for contract redlines and will be the liaison with the legal team and sales leadership to ensure that contract changes meet legal and business requirements. 

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2-3 Commercial Contract Specialists through training, mentoring, and performance management to build capabilities and ensure consistent execution of contract management.
  • Drafting and preparing contract documents, including templates for various agreements with customers to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and company standards. Negotiating contract terms and conditions to ensure they are accurate, reasonable, and align with company objectives.
  • Organizing, maintaining, and safely storing all contract-related documents for easy accessibility.  Maintain a centralized and organized repository of all contract-related documents, correspondence, and versions to ensure accessibility and serve as an audit trail. Maintain a database of Legal approved red-lines to assist with future negotiations.
  • Ensuring contract templates are current and comply with company policies, regulations, and laws, and identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with contracts. Ensure sales teams are utilizing current templates. Stay up to date on changes to relevant laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, such as legal, finance, sales, and operations to ensure contractual terms meet business objectives and regulatory requirements to ensure smooth contract progression and assist to develop and implement efficient company-wide procedures and policies for contract management and utilizing technology to streamline processes.

  • Ability to initiate collaboration efforts with peers and other departments to solve complex problems and anticipate requests and issues before they arise, and strong time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple contracts and deadlines.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with reviewing and redlining customer contracts. 2 years of Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
  • Advanced certifications like Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) (Preferred)
  • Other: Familiarity with the propane distribution industry (or similar industry) and associated business and legal risks; Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Platforms.

The pay for this position ranges from $86,600.00 to $103,900.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
