The ISC Commercial Contract Specialist effectively represents AmeriGas in building the base organizational business through the establishment and renewal of
customer pricing contracts. The ISC Contract Specialist will receive and handle inbound calls from potential customers through the IVR.
They will also conduct outbound calls with the objective of preemptively answering pricing questions prior to reestablishing a contract.

 

Characteristics:

  • Ability to establish and develop both internal and external relationships, present negotiation proposals and build customer accounts.
  • Understands AmeriGas business and is an expert on products, business segments and selling process.
  • Excellent phone presence and interpersonal skills in making inbound and outbound customer calls while delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within call center teams.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary job function is to establish or renew a variety of pricing contracts available to the customer in order to retain business.
  • Establishes strong relationships with customers
  • Maintains working knowledge of applications and customer solutions.
  • Attends meetings and training classes as required.
  • Interacts with various departments within the organization and department management on an as-needed basic
  • Upon receiving customer affirmation, ensure customer signature and complete all necessary steps within applications.


Administrative:

  • Maintains complete records of customer and prospect interactions and process/activities through detailed notes in CRM/SOAR and/or SAP.
  • Must comply with all company policies.

 

Secondary Duties

  •  As needed and determined by sales manager to support sales efforts.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

 

Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must have complete understanding of propane products and services
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity through careful planning and execution
  • Ability to deescalate potentially volatile pricing concerns
  • Effective use of sales techniques, including discovery, value proposition development, objection handling, and customer acquisition
  • Efficient and accurate use of systems and tools (CRM, SOAR, SAP, Office products, internet)
  • Strong telephone presence and interpersonal skills
  • Effectively communicates in English – verbal and written
  • Active listener and use of inquiry to discover/understand prospect needs
  • Motivated and results driven
  • Ability to work effectively with others; gives and receives feedback/coaching well


Education and Previous Experience Required:

  • High school education or equivalent required.  College degree preferred.  
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales and demonstrated negotiation skills.
