Sr. Project Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of and maintaining project scopes, cost estimates, schedules/forecasting, designs, project status reports, work plans, and resource requirements for each assigned project.
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, land, and environmental team members to successfully develop each assigned project through permitting, land acquisition, bidding, and contracting processes.
  • Accountable for the successful completion of construction of engineering projects, working closely with construction managers.  This includes assisting with startup and commissioning.
  • Understand contract requirements and communicate to the Project Team.
  • Ensure project team is staffed with qualified people.
  • Comply with UGIES’s business & Legal policies.
  • Protect UGIES from any unnecessary risks.
  • Help develop future projects by collaborating with UGIES Business Development group.
  • Interact and coordinate with various personnel, clients, government and municipal officials and assist with public outreach.
  • Create and maintain project specific documentation during and following completion of a project to ensure compliance with state or federal laws, corporate policies and procedures or other governing bodies.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of presentations that communicate project proposals, descriptions and status to senior management, state or federal agencies, and/or the public.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of pipeline construction, large linear development projects and gas processing facilities.
  • General knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and State permitting processes.
  • Supervisory project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, resourcefulness, and ability to prioritize.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Project and CAD software.
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines and urgent requests.
  • Ability to communicate clearly including the ability to describe complex technical matters such that operators can understand and apply to their duties.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable codes, regulations, practices (e.g. 49CFR Parts 192, 193, 195 and 199; NFPA 58, 59, 59A, 70; ASME B31.3, B31.8, BPV Section VIII and IX).
  • Ability and willingness to respond quickly to emergencies and operating upsets outside of normal business hours.
  • Be willing to travel 50% of the time.

Education and Experience Required:

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering or comparable technical experience enabling the applicant to perform the duties herein.  PMP Registration preferred.
  • 10 plus years of experience in project management. Experience in engineering, construction and/or operations of compressor/pump stations, terminal facilities and/or LNG storage units for the oil & gas industry is preferred
