This position will play the role of Sr. Application Developer primarily responsible for, but not limited to, design, delivery and support for the EDI system. This position will assist in various software development functions relating to the area of full lifecycle and large-scale Enterprise applications, and solution development. Along with EDI development, this role will be responsible for developing enterprise solutions utilizing the latest technologies in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Design, delivery and support for the EDI system. Maintain stability and performance of the Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator and Sterling Control Center.
  • Responsibilities include supporting protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SFTP, and AS2
  • Responsibilities include proactively identifying opportunities to utilize the technology to solve technical and business problems as well as provide remediation support during incident and event resolution.
  • Responsible to define, develop, test, analyze and maintain new and current software applications in support of business requirements.
  • Actively contribute in application design, development of UGIES Applications.
  • Keep apprised of IS technological and procedural advancements through industry and business contacts, seminars, and self-study.
  • Provide Level 3 Technical Support to Production Support Team as and when required
  • Ability to write SQL queries to understand underlying ERP table structure for EDI mapping
  • Strong understanding of relational database and client-server concepts and administrative aspects of a wide variety of environments such as Net framework Windows, Visual Studio etc.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with others at all levels of the organization; ability to express technical information clearly and simply while working closely with other personnel.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with EDI document standards
  • Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling File Gateway
  • Experience with SFTP, FTP, FTPS, AS2 and HTTPS
  • Applicant MUST have capable knowledge in the following areas:
    • Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET,  HTML, JavaScript, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, IIS 7+
  • Applicant should have knowledge of commonly used practices, concepts and procedures in application development.
  • Thorough understanding of structured programming principles and methods, system analysis techniques, system design, industry standard testing principles, system implementation
  • Applicant should have knowledge of relational databases, client-server and service oriented concepts.
  • Knowledge or experience of any of the following is a plus:
    • Siebel, Active Directory, MAS500, LINUX, C#, SAP
  • Must have strong analytical abilities and a customer-service orientation.
  • Must have ability to adapt to fast moving and changing environment.
  • Must possess a high level of creativity. Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Professional, reliable and self-directing work habits are also required
  • Agreeable to work overtime, as required.


Education and Experience Required:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems
  • 3+ years of experience directly related and progressively responsible experience in EDI Technical Administration and Operations support.
