UGI Energy Services’ Supply and Logistics department is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Pricing & Structure Analyst. UGI Energy Services retail commodity division currently sells natural gas to 43,000 customer locations throughout 39 utilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. In this role, the analyst will be part of the supply and logistics team responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing multiple pricing models for standard product offerings to residential, commercial and industrial gas (primarily) and liquid accounts across UGI Energy Service’s footprint. He/she will review market conditions and delivery requirements in order to seek opportunities to maximize margins and minimize risk. In addition, he/she will work with the Sales team to structure customized products for both new and renewal large commercial and industrial customers based on individual characteristics. Lastly, they will be expected to independently analyze, quantify, substantiate and incorporate historical and forward (projected) data into pricing assumptions and market advisement. The successful candidate will directly contribute to the continued growth of our business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain pricing models that account for wholesale and retail market cost, forward pricing curves and other related fundamental and technical data.
  • Research appropriate tariffs and/or participate in scheduled collaborative to understand market rules, procedures and pricing risks related to corresponding UGIES offered rate programs.
  • Research, improve and assist to implement new technologies and systems for pricing and structuring.
  • Conduct business studies on performance indicators in an effort to identify opportunities for growth and accountability.
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on customer usage patterns, risks and cost recovery.
  • Coordinate price offerings for Request for Proposals (RFPs), supporting Sales staff as necessary.
  • Monitor current market conditions to seek opportunities to maximize margins and minimize risk.

Prior Work Experience:

  • Experience in a pricing/structuring function related to gas and liquids is preferred.
  • Natural gas and liquids procurement and risk management awareness.
  • Understanding of the individual pricing/deal components and risks that comprise a deliverable product.

 

Education / Certification:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with concentration in business, mathematics, engineering or energy-related discipline.
