Regional Sales Manager - Western NY State

OVERVIEW:  

Maximize sales of natural gas, electricity and energy related products and services to commercial and industrial customers in assigned territory.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Service and maintain existing accounts, generate new sales from prospects and close profitable energy sales transactions with end use customers in compliance with company established risk management policies.
  • Assist in developing specific sales strategies and tactics for the geographical area.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations for service quality.
  • Assist in planning and executing promotional activities within region.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Products (Word/Excel).
  • Professional, reliable and self-directing work habits.
  • Knowledge of LDC rules and regulations.
  • Solid understanding of ability to sell all pricing products offered by company.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in energy sales.
