        Summary:

 

       The Welder (C&M) should be qualified by training to perform:

  • Live gas tie-ins using pressure control fittings and various tees
  • Prefabrication of regulatory stations
  • Industrial & commercial meter sets
  • Welding on various construction equipment, vehicles and building related projects.

     

    Secondary duties will include those consistent with a C&M Utilityman II, to include, but not limited, to leadership under general supervision, leak pinpointing and repair, plastic fusion, emergency first response, operation of a backhoe, etc.

     

    Principal Accountabilities: 

     

    Perform live gas tie-ins using pressure control fittings and various tees, prefabrication of regulatory stations, industrial & commercial meter sets along with welding on various construction equipment, vehicles and building related projects.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Technical School training in Welding
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant gas utility experience including knowledge and ability to perform basic construction and utility tasks.
  • Prior welding experience
  • Demonstrated ability to weld according to UGI Utilities, Inc. standards
  • Successful completion of the company's welding qualification test(s)
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift 75 pounds on a routine basis, work in confined spaces, work outdoors in all weather conditions, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics/electrical equipment, mechanical skills, analytical skills and communication skills are required. Must have a valid PA driver's license.
  • Must be available for overtime, call-outs, off-shift work and emergency response.

     

    Qualifications:

     

  • High School education
  • 'Welding Certification per UGI Welding standard requirements
