Job Summary
The Senior Manager, ESG will be a key team member, along with the Vice President of IR & ESG, responsible for supporting the execution of UGI's ESG strategy and leading internal and external ESG reporting. Understanding of the company’s operations, risks, financial profile and growth prospects is critical to the role. Additionally, the Senior Manager, ESG is expected to work collaboratively across the organization domestically and internationally, contributing to the development and execution of cohesive & compliant global ESG reporting, recognition and communications strategies by engaging cross-functional teams, partnering with Investor Relations, and leveraging external vendors. This individual will need to understand the varying external reporting requirements and ensure that UGI is in line with expectations. Responsibilities include preparation of ESG communications and UGI’s annual ESG report, managing relationships with ESG rating agencies, supporting outreach to ESG investors, leading the audit/review process of all figures included in UGI’s various ESG initiatives, and participation on UGI’s internal ESG strategy committees. This role partners closely with the Senior Manager, IR to ensure seamless and comprehensive coverage across both the ESG and Investor Relations functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) (90%)

- Support the implementation and management of the company's comprehensive ESG strategy and roadmap as directed by the VP, IR & ESG.
- Serve as a main point of contact for sustainability metrics, strategy, and reporting, working in collaboration with corporate communications, investor relations, lines of business (LOB), diversity, environmental sustainability, community relations, supply chain and others.
- Develop innovate approaches to evaluate and interpret ESG data to better support our corporate strategy, minimize risk, and increase stakeholder value
- Lead the data collection, preparation and writing of UGI’s annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reports
- Develop, manage, track and update key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to internal targets and public goals and ensure timely and accurate data capture. KPIs should support UGI’s ESG, and broader corporate, strategy. Report progress on to external stakeholders
- Maintain industry benchmarking and trends. Identify innovative approaches to sustainability/ESG reporting, including collection and publication of metrics, proof-points, narrative content and integrated reporting, and approaches to enhance authenticity and creativity.
- Coordinate with SMEs responsible for providing data from existing software systems, and ensure continuous improvement of enhanced, streamlined tools for data collection.
- Monitor the evolving ESG regulatory landscape (SEC climate disclosure rules, EU CSRD, California climate laws, etc.) and flag compliance considerations and emerging requirements to the VP, IR & ESG.
- Establish 3rd party auditing of UGI’s ESG figures. Continuously review and improve metrics management in accordance with evolving standards and leading practices.
Manage relationships with rating agencies including ISS, Sustainalytics, MSCI, CDP, and others (10%)

- Create compelling, evidence-based, written and visual summaries of sustainability performance for both internal and external audiences, including dashboards, scorecards, infographics, presentations and reports
- Understand key requirements for inclusion in ESG-focused indexes like the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
- Provide input on UGI’s internal and external sustainability communications; serve as subject matter expert on ESG content development and deployment.
- Align all ESG communications with overarching enterprise purpose and ensure persuasive messaging that demonstrates the company's purpose, values and progress.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated broad and accurate perspective on business affairs.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- In depth technical knowledge and experience in sustainability reporting and with relevant ESG standards; familiarity with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting and Standards (SASB), Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and/or CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
- Proven ability to read, analyze, interpret and translate large sets of data into simple insights or reports.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering qualitative and quantitative sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, governance) reporting. Domestic and international experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience influencing without formal authority to accomplish company-wide goals.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse work group involving significant outside contacts.
- Ability to advance projects independently.
Qualifications
- BA (or equivalent) emphasizing Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability-focused Studies
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in corporate finance, engineering, or similar function
- MBA or CFA preferred
