The HFM Application Manager is a dual function role: IT and financial/accounting. This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting the HFM and FDMEE applications and plays a key role in the development of future application deployment and the global consolidation processes.  This role will partner with outside consultants and internal stakeholders to help architect and structure the development of the financial reporting system to meet both the compliance and business intelligence needs of the Company.  This position provides critical consolidation support in the financial reporting needs of the Company and requires a strong knowledge of international financial statement consolidations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

User Support:

  • Work directly with the users on a daily basis to enable them to use HFM as designed, develop new and innovative ways to use HFM and provide day-to-day support to the user community with data submissions, mapping, data grids, data forms, and developing Hyperion reports.
  • Develop user manuals and training materials, as well as systems documentation in support of business policies and procedures. Assist and conduct end-user training.   

 

System Maintenance: 

  • Provide daily maintenance of the HFM application, financial closing and the consolidation process. This includes updating and configuring the application for changes required by management, acquisitions, regulatory boards, new accounting rules, financial laws, as well as new policies and procedures.
  • Maintain metadata changes and mapping tables between all financial systems as needed and communicate changes to global users, planning administrators and management.
  • Ensure all “non-business as usual” type changes to the application are documented on a change request form and approved by the Change Control Board.
  • Work with IT resources to ensure the efficient operation of the HFM application and its underlying infrastructure, including production and development environments.

 

Monthly Consolidation & Reporting: 

  • Support the monthly financial consolidation process of the Company and assist with data submission/load process from divisions/subsidiaries.
  • Develop and maintain Hyperion Financial Reports that support the external reporting requirements of the Company in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure that key application controls are designed appropriately and operating effectively in compliance with SOX requirements related to access to programs and data; program changes and computer operations. Troubleshoot consolidation issues with the consolidation accountant.

 

System Implementation:

  • Project management role in the design, development and deployment of application enhancements and upgrades.
  • Implement and support continuous improvement of the reporting processes, including modifying existing reports systems and creating new & complex reports

 

Other: 

  • As required, assist the Director Global Consolidations in directing the efforts of the Sr. Accountant Global Consolidations. 
  • Other responsibilities as required including ad-hoc reporting, analysis and technical issues.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • 5 to 10 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Min of 5 years of experience working with the Hyperion platform as an administration or super user
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or IT ;MBA and/or CPA a plus
  • Certifications and/or Training on Oracle’s Hyperion platform including HFM, FDMEE and Smart view administration
  • Multi-faceted competency in financial systems, finance and accounting. This includes:
    • a strong understanding of financial statements and international consolidation processes
    • Technical knowledge of HFM, FDMEE and Smart view
  • Expert technical knowledge in the following areas to support and develop HFM:
    • Meta Data design
    • Consolidation rules development
    • Member lists
    • Intercompany eliminations
    • Global/Multi currency environment
    • FDMEE design and integration with HFM
    • FDMEE Mapping and validation rules, FDMEE script development and FDMEE Adaptor integration
    • Expertise in report development (Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, Smart View) is required
    • Familiar with relational databases and the concept of dimensionality
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Ability to liaise between technical and non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated capability to multi-task and manage project-based work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and comfortable dealing with senior executives
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
