Job Summary:
This position provides direct assistance in the accurate, timely completion and filing of the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) periodic reports (i.e. Forms 10-Q/K) for UGI Corporation and certain subsidiaries’ quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the accounting standards generally accepted in the U.S. (“GAAP”). Under supervision, prepares and accumulates supporting workpapers to assist in the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures included in the periodic reports.  In addition to certain recurring tasks associated with the periodic filings, the incumbent will have several process improvements projects to complete, aimed at increasing the overall efficiency of the relevant processes. The incumbent also performs completeness reviews of XBRL tagging for SEC filings and provides assistance in various other ad hoc projects.

Job Responsibilities:
Annual Financial Reporting.  Under supervision and guidance from the external reporting team, prepare certain components of the annual financial statements of UGI Corporation and several non-public subsidiaries. Compose various schedules and analyses to fulfill audit requests from external auditors. Execute several tasks aimed at ensuring proper presentation and the integrity of information presented in external financial statements. Validate and ensure consistency of data within certain internal reports as compared to the in-process annual financial statements. Interact with various departments and business units on a regular basis to communicate and fulfill requests associated with the preparation of the annual financial statements.
Process Improvement. Execute several projects aimed at increasing the efficiencies of certain recurring financial reporting processes, including maximizing the use of software upgrades. Such projects include reducing manual data input, standardizing presentation of financial information across various financial documents and promoting internal consistencies within financial statements.
Other duties.  Perform and review the XBRL tagging process.  Act in liaison capacity between management and external auditors to coordinate delivery of audit requests in a timely manner. Assist in ad-hoc projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with auditors for information as requested.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to enable interaction within and outside the group. 
  • Willingness to learn and assist in critical and time-sensitive situations. 
  • Ability to identify potential issues and communicate concerns to manager in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a remote team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other similar areas of study. 
  • Prior accounting or finance internship experience preferred but not required.
  • Recommended GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Expected graduation Fall 2022, Spring 2023.
