Job Summary (Purpose):


The Midstream Engineer will work in the UGI Energy Services Natural Gas Midstream Operations Group. They will be responsible for assisting with all engineering related tasks for operating compressor, dehydration, storage, metering & regulation, and pipeline facilities. Tasks will involve procedure development, troubleshooting, record keeping, compliance, capital project design and installation, and assisting with field projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work with field groups to learn specific tasks and develop written procedures.
  • Understand all regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with them.
  • Understand Cathodic Protection systems and assist field group with troubleshooting and design of new systems.
  • Understand reciprocating compressors and assist with optimizing performance.
  • Understand gas dehydration systems and work with field group to troubleshoot and determine optimum settings.
  • Set Pipeline Integrity Management inspections and schedule and develop written procedures to support work.
  • Review files and drawings of new construction and acquisitions.
  • Review and update existing drawings to reflect field changes.
  • Design and oversee installation of capital improvements to facilities.
  • Support field groups on computer based programs such as ArcGIS, EMaintenance, Aconex, and others.  


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, chemistry, and physics.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to assess and identify issues and work with groups to develop solutions.
  • Ability to present and communicate ideas.
  • Professional, reliable, self-directing work habits.
  • Ability to travel to all facilities across large geographic range.


    Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0-5 years of industry related experience.


    Working Conditions:

  • Office work, frequent travel, outdoor work in all weather conditions.
