Job Summary

Provide safety & health support.

**Position location is flexible including remote work or report to any of the following offices: Williamsport, Clearfield, Fryburg, Lock Haven-Operations, Port Allegany, Southpoint-Northumberland, Troy, Wellsboro or Westfield.**

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write/review/update Company safety and health procedures with Manager oversight. Turnover procedure to training and ensure employee communication process is followed.
  • Coach, mentor and support assigned geographical territory by assisting in safety committees, incident investigations, safety communications and on average 6-8 field visits per month. 
  • Conduct/Lead/Coordinate annual facility inspections.
  • Assist in special S&H projects aimed at developing/updating safety management system elements within UGI.
  • Work with other functional areas within UGI (non- operations).
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • OSHA/DOT regulations.
  • Construction/Utility industry knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge of health and safety regulations, OSHA rules, ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into operational compliance programs.
  • Train, Present, Speak in front of groups.
  • Hazard recognition & resolution.
  • Effective at operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people on many levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks to effectively achieve results.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or in technical field or combined equivalent of education and experience.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in safety or in gas, electric utility/pipeline/transmission or construction safety.
  • Preferred Certifications: CSP, CUSP, CHST
