Job Summary

Provide local field support for employee occupational heath and safety, including crew site visits, program and policy support, training and coaching to improve employee safety capacity. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and support assigned geographical territory by assisting in safety committees, incident investigations, safety communications and on average 6-8 field visits per month. Conduct/Lead/Coordinate annual facility inspections. 
  • Review safe driving video coaching opportunities and provide local driver safety training.
  • Write/review/update Company safety and health procedures with Manager oversight. Facilitate procedure implementation planning including training and employee communication.
  • Assist in special S&H projects aimed at developing/updating safety management system elements within UGI.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • OSHA/DOT regulations.
  • Construction/Utility industry knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge of health and safety regulations, OSHA rules, ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into operational compliance programs.
  • Train, Present, Speak in front of groups.
  • Hazard recognition & resolution.
  • Effective at operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people on many levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks to effectively achieve results.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or in technical field or combined equivalent of education and experience.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in safety or in gas, electric utility/pipeline/transmission or construction safety
  • Desired; CSP, CUSP, CHST.
  • Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point and Outlook
