Job Summary:

The main focus of the Substation Engineering Intern will be to update paper and outdated digital control drawings and other records into 2D AutoCAD, assist other engineers in upcoming major substation and metering projects including overseeing construction, material selection and requisition, and cataloging stock versus equipment in the field.   

 

**This position is onsite 5 days a week in the office in Wilkes-Barre, PA


Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Update control drawings in 2D AutoCAD including wiring tracing to confirm drawings.
  • Assist in substation material specification and acquisition.
  • Assist in cataloging CTs and PTs in the field and in stock. 
  • Assist with oversight of the construction of a new 66kV structure and protection at Hanover Substation.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D
  • Critical thinking/problem solving
  • Communication with internal employees and outside vendors
  • Basic understanding of electrical control circuits

 

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • In progress towards a bachelors or associates degree in engineering or engineering technology
