Job Summary

Under the direction of the Materials Management Supervisor, perform clerical and manual work associated with issuing, transferring, receiving, requisitioning, storing, delivery, pick up, and reclamation of materials, supplies and equipment handled by the Stores Department including but not limited to meters & related equipment, tools, UGI approved items, fuel, and hazardous materials. Cycle count activities, project coordination, materials inventory/forecasting, PO expediting and routine upkeep & maintenance of clean and orderly warehouse, meter areas and pipe yard.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs the physical handling of materials, supplies, and equipment, including loading and unloading to or from transporter, verifying items and quantities against ship tickets, placing in, or removing from storage and the materials on shelves, into material bins or placement within pipe yard. This does require heavy lifting, heavy exertion, and the operation of hand trucks, pallet movers and forklifts; forklift training & certification must be completed and maintained.
  • Process all material issues, returns, transfers, and receipts using the SAP inventory system and other devices; batching and filing paperwork daily. This may include creation of batch & serialized material and barcodes; barcode to be created & attached to product at time of receipt for inventory transactions including issues, transfers, counting and returns.
  • Project coordination, pick and stage project materials from existing inventory and as received from transfers or vendors for field crews or contractors. Assist with material ordering, PO expediting, and planning of upcoming field work. Transportation of materials to/from other locations or to job site by truck or other vehicle required. A commercial driver’s license is required.
  • Run, perform, assist with inventory cycle counts and discrepancies.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly areas within the warehouse including shelf/storage labeling, meter areas and pipe yard. Return excess inventory to central warehouse. Receive, record, store, and issue hazardous materials; complete & maintain certification. Mail collection & delivery to/from central location; pickup/drop off post office.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good knowledge of material handling, shipping, freight, and understanding of UGI SAP Inventory system.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift & JCB.
  • Must be able to work in very cold and warm environments. On call – callouts.
  • Computer skills; good math, verbal, and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma
  • 1-3 years warehouse, inventory, material handling
  • Forklift
  • CDL A, forklift & hazardous material certification required after 6 months
  • Use of radio frequency scanners for inventory transactions
