Coordinate various maintenance programs and engineer various replacement projects. Perform field inspections correcting any problems and document non-standard construction practices as discovered.  Assist as needed in the storeroom and coordinate the repair and maintenance of all distribution transformers. Supervise line construction and maintenance performed by company and contractor personnel as required. Respond to storm related outages. Assist the transmission engineer with patrols and projects.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate distribution related programs, including pole treatment, replacement, reinforcement, underground inspections, switch and capacitor maintenance, and replacement of reclosers and sectionalizers for maintenance. Maintain a database of distribution equipment for all reclosers, capacitors, switches, and voltage regulators on the electric delivery system.  Communicate all system changes to System Operations.
  • Conduct assessments of field operations to assure prescribed construction standards and practices are being employed.  Assist with evaluations of tools, materials, and equipment for line construction.  Provide training as required to implement new standards, procedures, practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist the transmission engineer supervising the operation and maintenance of all 66kv and 230kv transmission lines, rights-of-ways, and access roads.  This includes patrolling, maintenance type work, and coordination of various contractors, property owners, and other utilities.
  • Coordinate and maintain records involving repair and disposal of distribution transformers.  Update inventory of trans-formers, including special voltage units, three-phase pad mounts, and single-phase pad mounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide support at Forty Fort Storeroom.  Perform other duties as assigned of a similar and related nature to those already listed.  Assist with storm damage and other restoration efforts as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 2 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • National Electric Safety Code.
  • PC skills related to the Microsoft Suite of programs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to completion.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and effectively both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with the public and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.



  • 2 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering


Working Conditions:

  • 50% Outside 50% Office
