Primary focus is to assist large commercial and industrial (C&I) customers with the application and economical use of electrical energy and related technologies such as distributed energy resources, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, combined heat and power and high efficiency lighting. Assist with administering company rates and policies with respect to C&I customers. Serve as the primary interface between UGI Electric and the C&I customer group. Primarily responsible for the day to day activities associated with the implementation and management of the Company Owned Service Transition Program.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Electric Division’s Company Owned Service Transition Program. This includes customer outreach, contractor procurement, quality and payment, tracking program activity and preparing annual reports.
  • Large commercial and industrial business contact. Interface with customers, architects, engineers and contractors regarding single and three phase electrical supply, energy conservation, emerging technologies (such as DER & CHP), heating and air conditioning costs, tariff questions and bill complaints. Assist in preparation of department Sales and Revenue Budget and maintain billing rates and C&I statistics for division reports. Assist other department personnel in coordinating customer functions with respect to service, engineering and billing. Perform energy audits for commercial and industrial customers and verify commercial and industrial bills making necessary corrections as required. Review commercial and industrial 10accounts as requested to insure application of best rate and tariff policies.
  • Contact customers regarding installation/updating/removal of outdoor/street lighting. Includes all field work related to the design layout, preparing contracts and issuing all related work orders. Large installations are commonly marketed through written proposals to the customer. Company construction authorizations are also prepared for large installations.
  • Manage the Electric Division’s Pole Attachment Program. This includes acting as the primary contact, field reviews of pre and post installations, agreement administration, tracking attachment data including pole audits and working with Standards to make changes as necessary.  Technician will field questions and review attachment construction designs from outside contractors.
  • Responsible for preparation of electrical load sheets for new and additional loads for use by other departments. Investigate and resolve power quality issues.
  • Administer all new business line extension contracts/agreements. Manage contact with Electrical Inspectors. Provide back-up coverage for area field technicians.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of UGI's distribution line construction standards, methods, and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code and National Electric Code. PA 1-Call, and OSHA regulations pertaining to electric distribution work. Knowledge of UGI’s safety rules.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment & power requirements.
  • Knowledge of UGI’s Electric Service Tariff preferred.
  • Knowledge of the UGI contractor/procurement process and the ability to develop a comprehensive scope of work preferred.
  • Knowledge of end-use electrical equipment including lighting, electric machinery, and other electric apparatus.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and effectively both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with the public and represent the company in a professional manner. Ability to organize and deploy resources effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to completion. Ability to adapt standard practices to meet unique customer needs.



  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology is required. Extent of experience will be considered if education is not in-line with the education requirement.
  • This position requires five (5) years of experience with increasing responsibility and skill level.


Working Conditions:

  • Typical office conditions, 75%
  • Outside, exposed to the elements, i.e., temperature extremes, mud, rain, snow, noise, etc., 25%.
  • Must be able to work near energized electrical equipment.
