Job Summary
With a commitment to safety, the Operations Lead, under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, will supervise and develop our Operations field forces. Will be responsible for directing daily operations which include: leak repair, capital service/main installation, R&B service/main replacement, compliance surveys/inspections/patrols and utility line locating. Oversee special projects as assigned in the area of responsibility. Will be expected to monitor progress and completion dates for all of the above. Will be involved in all aspects of project design from records research to the acquisition of environmental and highway permitting. Will participate as a Duty Supervisor as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the direct or indirect supervision of UGI and contractor employees in the safe, reliable and efficient installation and maintenance of UGI distribution facilities.
- Assist in planning and designing both short term and long term activities that are performed by company personnel, contractors, and long term projects that can last for years, such as system improvement projects, while ensuring that operating records are maintained in a timely and accurate manner and regulatory requirements are met.
- Support and monitor the performance of the assigned natural gas distribution systems, identifies and anticipates malfunctions, and directs corrective actions.
- Work with employees as a group and individually to develop and enhance skills required to perform work in the most productive and safe manner possible. Work with training department to ensure that employees receive appropriate training.
- Assist in responding to and at times take a leadership role in an emergency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with contractors
- Skilled knowledge of Construction and Maintenance practices and techniques related to the field work
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work with supervision and coworkers
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with SAP, Field Glass, People Connect, Microsoft.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of experience
- Experience supervising others, helpful
