Job Summary
Directly supervise central meter shop personnel in the acquisition, receiving, testing, and shipping of gas meters and associated equipment for UGI Utilities (UGIU), while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Own, review, and edit procedures, business processes, and asset records supporting the lifecycle of the meter asset class and related equipment to achieve regulatory compliance and meet business needs.
**This position is fully onsite, 5 days a week in the Reading, PA office.**
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the execution of daily activities of meter technicians and administrative staff to receive, test, record, and ship UGI meters and auxiliary measurement-related equipment. Initiate/process meter-related billing adjustments when required.
- Provide technical support and subject matter expertise on applicable equipment including meters, provers, leak detection equipment, and logistics. Ensure compliant equipment certification and calibration.
- Own, review, and edit procedures, business processes, and asset records supporting the lifecycle of meter and related equipment asset class(es) to achieve regulatory compliance and meet business needs.
- Prepare annual measurement equipment acquisition budgets; manage and forecast financial performance to achieve company objectives.
- Develop and execute the entirety of UGIU’s annual meter testing program; certify compliance in an annual letter to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a cross-functional team including vendor, technical, administrative, and union employees.
- Knowledge of gas measurement and related equipment, testing requirements (PA Chapter 59), UGI Gas Operations Manual, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management practices (purchase orders, contracts, RFPs, etc.) to procure the best product or service at the overall best value.
- Knowledge of UGI systems (SAP, PowerPlan, DOJM, ADP, People Connect) and MS Office (emphasis on Excel).
- Strong organization and data management skills.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills. Execution of the annual meter testing program involves many stakeholders outside of this role’s direct authority.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, Associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of measurement, operations, or equivalent experience.
