Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to manage the warehouses & inventory located in Middletown and Lancaster and other areas as requested on behalf of UGI.  This position is responsible for daily supervision of bargaining unit employees, inventory material forecasting, ordering, receipt, material returns and coordinating order delivery and shipping to internal locations.  This position is responsible to assist UGI Central locations with inventory accuracy, reduction, set up and replacement as necessary.  This position works closely with Sales, Operations and Engineering as well as other Materials Management personnel across the company to ensure materials are received when and where needed.

 

This position has authority to approve Purchase Requisitions up to $25,000.  This position receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from management or more senior department personnel and may provide informal guidance to newer department members.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory levels and total inventory value while ensuring adequate materials are available through regular review and update of Reorder Point/Max levels for stock inventory items; review and have materials pulled for material reservations placed by Engineering, Sales, Corrosion, M&R and Operations based on need by date managed by Operations; responsible to approve requisitions up to $25,000; communicate effectively with Category Managers responsible for material purchases and expeditor on material delays.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy including transactions, cycle counts, transfers, in transit and vendor receipts, turnover and overall organization of warehouse areas. Provide support to operating areas and supervisors on material requests, replenishment, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, processes and material storage. Return excess inventory from operating areas to central warehouse.
  • Supervise warehouse operations including bargaining unit employees.  Coordinate worker activities including lifting, transporting, storing and loading/unloading materials and pipe by use of forklift, loader, pallet jack and other material handling equipment; ensure proper training, certification and recertification as required.
  • Responsible to review reports and company metrics for assigned areas including inventory value, inventory turns, ROP Max, potentially obsolete materials, damaged/unusable/expired inventory, cycle count adjustments, transactions and others.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and pivot tables; experience with SAP inventory management software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, securing buy-in and agreement through collaborative efforts.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to area locations across Pennsylvania.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, Business/Supply Chain preferred.
  • More than 5 years warehouse experience, supervisory experience.
