Job Summary

This position will be either a Level I or Level II-see the requirements for what differentiates them.

Add profitable natural gas connections in the existing home market through the management of the Inside Sales Group (ISG) Fulfillment Process and both residential and commercial services from the Area Sales Representatives. For an assigned territory, additionally manage all aspects of elevated pressure requests, residential main extensions(excluding GET), residential and commercial inbound added load inquiries, ROW acquisition, and other duties related to the expeditious resolution of escalated customer inquiries. Increase profitability in the residential and commercial conversion markets by reducing cost to serve and managing sub-contractor/UGI crews (resources) to complete natural gas connections.  Design and manage the resources required for installation of natural gas facilities to serve existing homes under the supervision of the Business Development Director. Provide a reliable schedule that will improve customer satisfaction and the efficient allocation of resources. Ability to communicate with customers and governing agencies involved with permitting or code enforcement.  Ensure timely installation of all growth service facilities by guiding all aspects of the process upon Sales gaining customer agreements. Manage all aspects of the Sales process in low activity zip codes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Level I-  Work with assistance, to design and provide service estimates including meters and regulators to UGI system specifications, and complete all necessary permitting required for all new business service facilities.  Respond to potential residential customer inquiries showing interest in using or converting to natural gas and on a limited basis pro-actively canvassg for potential new residential customers.  Work closely with ISG and area Sales Representatives to manage all aspects of the process upon signing of a customer agreement. Assist with the project management of short residential main extension inquiries, complete inbound added meter/load requests for both residential and small commercial, as well as elevated pressure requests.  Maintain high levels of Customer Satisfaction.  
    Level II- Work independently to design and provide service estimates including meters and regulators to UGI system specifications, and complete all necessary permitting required for all new business service facilities.  Respond to potential residential customer inquiries showing interest in using or converting to natural gas and as required pro-actively field/office canvassing of potential new residential customers. Work closely with ISG and area Sales Representatives to manage all aspects of the process upon signing of a customer agreement.  Act as the project manager for residential main extension inquiries, complete inbound added meter/load requests for both residential and commercial, as well as elevated pressure requests.  Maintain high levels of Customer Satisfaction.  Close sales in low activity zip codes as assigned.
  • Interact with ISG, Area Sales, and Operations to successfully manage the installation of residential conversion services which will require workload assessment of crews required to meet service demand and field requests from the office. Ensure timely installations.  Seek to increase profitability in the residential conversion market by reducing cost to serve through effective management of crews, and by collaboration with area Operations.
  • Secure cost saving measures.  Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.  Provide technical assistance.  
  • Communicate with customers, various state agencies, municipalities (permit issues), and contractors in regard to restoration requirements, coordination issues, scheduling questions, complaints, or quality of workmanship concerns.  Also support AOP and AOC as well as inactive service customer contacts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with construction cost savings measures, the annual pipeline contract, and SAP growth processes are a must.
  • Outstanding organization and communication skills, to manage all aspects of service growth execution.
  • Manage a large volume of varied service installations through the use of excellent time management.
  • Ability to independently make technical decisions.
  • Working knowledge of DOJM, FieldBook, and Mapframe are a plus.
Education and Experience

Level I-
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required; or a minimum of three years of work experience involving construction or sales related technical duties.

Level II-
Bachelor’s degree in in business or engineering required, or a minimum of seven years of work experience involving construction or sales related technical duties. 

Bachelor’s degree in in business or engineering required, and 2 years of related work experience; or a minimum of seven years of work experience involving construction or sales related technical duties.
