Job Summary
The Store Room Utility A start will be responsible for Clerical and Manual work associated with receiving of parts, materials, and pipe at the Lancaster warehouse and pipe yard. The incumbent will also be responsible for routine deliveries of coil pipe and other materials for project sites and other UGI locations. The successful bidder must have the ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc. and will be responsible for picking and assembling needed parts & materials for project requests on a daily basis. In addition to these duties, this position will also be responsible for the upkeep of inventory, the counting, receiving, processing material returns, min/max planning, requisitioning, and distribution of parts and materials. Other duties will include responsibility for the inventory of meters at Lancaster and working with the Central Meter Shop to ensure meter needs are forecasted and coordinated. The successful bidder will be expected to respond to occasional after hours and weekend callouts if available. This position will also perform other work within the General Services group as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily warehouse activities, including: unload, verify and receive deliveries, meters, pipe and orders either direct shipped or received from central warehouse; pick and issue materials; loading pipe and other materials issued out; operation and maintenance check of forklift and other material handling equipment; checking, receiving and entering materials returned to warehouse. Assist other areas as requested. Complete forklift certification/recertification as necessary.
- Inventory material forecasting, weekly review of warehouse stock/nonstock materials not currently planned to request from central warehouse or order as necessary. Preparation and online processing of area purchasing system material requisitions, releases and central receiving documents. Accurately enter material issue, return and transfer sheets within inventory management software; batch and file daily. Report any low or stock out items for ordering or on hand count verification.
- Assist in cycle count process, entering physical counts, and assisting supervisor in researching discrepancies. Review daily transfer and weekly transaction reports to address discrepancies.
- Responsible for overall organization of warehouse and pipe yard, including clear labeling of material ID numbers and materials pulled or staged for specific projects. Return excess inventory to central warehouse.
- Inventory Control and coordination of meters.
- Weekend and emergency callouts when available.
- Other work within General Services as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer skills required in order to create purchase requisitions and releases in SAP
- Proficient in MS Office, including sorting in Excel for reviewing reorder points
- Ability to operate a forklift and motorized pallet jack including required certification
- Demonstrated safe driving record and attendance record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on regular basis
- Must be able to work overtime and be available for weekly callout after hours and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of gas pipe/materials and gas meters
- Must be highly organized with good communication skills and general knowledge of warehouse and inventory operations.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous warehouse, inventory or material handling experience preferred
Work Environment
Office and warehouse - Daily, pipe yard, available for after hour callout; travel to other warehouse locations as necessary to assist with inventory and/or training
