Job Summary


The Utility A Start must be capable of handling Utility work such as the following tasks, turn-on`s, meter changes, leak investigations, working in confined spaces and basic pipe fitting. The individual will be responsible for emergency response when qualified. The schedule is a rotating schedule of all applicable shifts. Additionally, a Utility A-Start may be called upon to perform any other work as directed.


Knowledge & Skills


  • Physically capable of performing Utility work
  • Skilled knowledge of Utility practices and techniques related to the Utility work
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work with supervision and coworkers
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Qualified to do emergency response, legal changes, turn-ons, shut-offs, high bill investigations, and Credit & Collections


Working Conditions


  • Regular exposure to noise, temperature extremes, vibrations, dust, machinery/chemicals requiring safety equipment.




  • High School Diploma
