Position Summary:
Responsible for developing ABAP code changes to SAP applications, which includes system enhancements based on the business requirements outlined in Functional Specifications as well as the investigation and correction of defects. Assists in the creation of techinical specifications and technical unit test plan. Performs techinical unit testing and compiles testing documentation.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop software of moderate complexity based on specifications provided by the business unit analysts or other IT technical resources such as connfigurators.
  • Support the analysis, design, development and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables with minimal oversight from senior staff
  • Provide 24X7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications considered core or mission critical to the company.
  • Participate on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members or project managers.
  • Implement software packages for which moderate configuration and integration is required, remote or onsite interaction with vendor resources may be required. Integrate applications using moderately complex interfaces.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies. Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Good verbal, written analytical and interpersonal skills. Effectely presents information to their team and department as needed.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals and timelines. Assist in developing project plans for projects.
  • Comprehends techinical design specifications and processes knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture. Authors techinical design specifications for small projects
  • Working knowledge of COBIT5 based IT Governance and Management framework or other structured industry standard methodologies.

Length of Experience:    Prior SAP ABAP development experience is required. Experience preferred in one or more of the functional areas below:
•    Financial Accounting (FI)
•    Controlling (CO)
•    Materials Management (MM)
•    Warehouse Management (WM/EWM)
•    Supply Chain Management (SCM)
•    Project Accounting (PS)


Minimum of four (4) years of SAP application development is required, with five (5) to seven (7) years being preferred.

Employee should have experience in the following technical areas:
•    Form development using Adobe Forms or Smart Forms
•    Workflow development
•    User-Exits & Enhancement programs
•    SAPGUI; Fiori experience desired
•    Custom report development
•    Modifying ALV views and/or custom ALV Views

Debugging and Performance Tuning for program development

Certifications:    ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation certification (at hire or within 12 months in position).
Licenses/Registrations:    N/A
Other:    Preferred: Experience in SAP S/4 HANA or ABAP/4
Preferred: Working knowledge of COBIT IT Governance & Management framework and familiarity with regulatory/compliance items governing IT.
